For our kitchen remodel we were looking to change to a 36" range, and evaluated many models available. Based on looks and features, we decided to go with the Cafà model. It has only been in use for 3 weeks so far, but we love the burners and the spacious oven. Having connectivity to the phone is great as well. Looking forward to getting the Turkey Gobbler feature loaded before we cook our next turkey. The range looks great in the middle of our kitchen and serves as a focal point behind the island.

I have only used the oven 2 times so I don't think I can give it a 5 star rating yet. However, the cooktop is awesome. The 6 burners gives many options for the most complex recipe. The burners are well spaced and heat evenly. Using the controls for the oven is not as intuitive as hoped but that could be because I am not used to it. I thought when reading about the features that there was an air fryer option but I haven't seen this feature yet. This option is not on the dial but it may be accessed differently. I have not set up the WiFi control yet so I cannot comment on the feature. When using the oven, it heats quickly and cooks evenly.

This may be my last GE appliance...

I previously owned the 60" model and loved it, but after downsizing to a smaller home I purchased this model instead. Unfortunately, I haven™€™t been nearly as satisfied with it for several reasons. The gaps in the cooktop grates are quite wide, which causes my stovetop percolator to tip over easily. The gas oven also bakes unevenly, which makes consistent cooking difficult. To make matters worse, the oven stopped working entirely after just 31/2 years. Given the roughly $6,000 price point, I expected a much higher level of quality and durability.

Awesome range but with high commercial output.

The overall quality of the range has been excellent so far. We get compliments about it from all our guests and it really is a statement piece in the center of our kitchen. The only grip I have is that the burners do not turn down enough and the wok burner makes a strange humming sound at any level above 5 when any pan is placed above it. We are used to cooking with stainless cookware and the only usable burner for cooking on lower heat is the simmer burner. The others are just too intense. The grates are really heavy duty. We are overall pleased.

Dangerous cooktop for small pots

Generally the range performs well....but the grate over the burners does not have a place for a small pot. Small pots balance precariously, over the burners making them dangerous to use. I emailed the company and was told there is not an alternative grate. The solution is to get a ring reducer, which is not provided by the company. They told me to buy one on Amazon. So having paid for a Range that is well $7000 I am not very satisfied.

Great but be aware of the grate openings

I love the range, however my only complaint is the grate size over the burners. Be aware that if you want to simmer something in a small pot, that it is difficult to sit small pots on these grates. The center over the burners are fairly large, so it makes using small pots difficult. They do not sit on the grate opening, and the pot almost falls into the hole. I would not feel comfortable cooking with small sauce pots. I™€™ll have to buy an after market grate to stabilize smaller pots

This range was installed on September 22, and since that time I have been required to replace the igniter glow bar twice. Upon conducting further research, I found that premature failure of the GE igniter glow bar is a documented and widespread issue. I contacted GE Support to address this ongoing problem and was offered the option to purchase the same range again at a discounted price. This proposed solution is unacceptable. It would require me to spend nearly $10,000 on two ranges within a three-year period due to what appears to be a defective and persistently failing component. Very poor product for LP gas conversion !

Not a very good product to convert to LP gas. After a certified GE technician installed and converted to LP gas, when using oven for entire oven baking session persistent gas smell through out the whole kitchen and surrounding room. This is the second replacement that has the same problem. Technicians and GE support cannot rectify the problem!

Purchased this oven 6 months ago - has no self clean feature - steam clean does not clean the oven. GE will tell you to use all of these remedies to clean - the oven is so deep you can't even reach to clean the back. You cannot get any stains off the lights in side of the oven. Piece of junk. Shame on the sales team of Designer Appliances in Bedminster, NJ that sold this oven without covering all the basis. DO NOT BUY!

Absolute piece of crap - avoid at all costs

A $7k range - built with all the quality of a Walmart discount item. Unboxes fine. But you'll need to adjust the rear feet. To do so, you have to remove the vent cover - but can't do that because someone in the factory forced it in and now it won't come out. Finally get it and find out that the frame the vent sits in is bent too. But that is the easy part - there are two long rods needed to adjust the back feet - WB02X39924 - the hex head on each of these rods is stripped - so you can't adjust. And GE doesn't have them - they are on back order - so for $17x2, my range remains in the middle of the room, waiting to be installed - one month now. My guess is that GE found out all that batch of rods were crap and are remaking them. When quality control is in the sewer, stay away.

Expensive oven

We just purchased a new home nearly one year ago, the home was built in 2021, and the oven came with the home. Just recently the oven would not pre heat Tried to find someone to fix it, but most will not work on Cafe ovens. Only 1 year warranty $6000 oven should have a better warranty and better service department to help find help.

Do not purchase unless you want to have a tech come out multiple times. The oven will stop getting to temperature at any given time. We've had to repair it 6 times and now are in the process of fighting the warranty company to replace it.

Oven doesnt heat 9/12/2024

We purchased this $6000+ 36inch gas range in January 2021 (3.5 years). Oven has stopped heating and now we have a $500 repair and no oven to use for our family of 5 ($150 to diagnose it as the igniter and now $350 for Parts and Labor to repair, once the part comes in that is). We were told that it is only warranteed for 3 years so we are out of luck for the repair cost. To have an oven of this caliber that doesn't even heat after 3 years is disappointing and unacceptable in my opinion. Our previous oven was a fraction of the cost and was reliable for 15+ years until we decided to upgrade our kitchen. This problem seems to be epidemic with this particular model, why hasn't it been encumbant upon GE to fix this issue? It seems the more expensive the appliances are these days the shorter the life span.

So happy with the range. It has so much power and flexibility and can handle anything. The grates are heavy so cleaning is a bit of a challenge but so worth the extra effort.

Another igniter failure. 5 weeks to get replaced.

Bake igniter failed in under a year. Arranged for warranty service. Service came out 1 week after call, in under 5 minutes said the igniter was bad. Parts are back ordered, can't get a replacement for 4 more weeks. That is 5 weeks without an oven. In the meantime the warranty continues to run. Looking on the internet this is a very common problem. Most fail every year. Some people even have multiple extras for when the igniter inevitably fails. If you can even find one available, it costs $80, not to mention service call if you are incapable of replacing yourself. Oh, and unlike most stoves, this model has to be moved to get access to the back to replace. Think I'm an unusual case ? Just look at the reviews for the cafe stove on this site. I'll bet half are problems with the igniter. And you know it will fail at the most inconvenient time. Ours failed preparing for a wedding. Buyer beware. Terrible engineering. I thought I'd use the broiler igniter temporarily while waiting for the bake igniter. Nope, the 2 are different. Something needs to be redesigned, and the current units recalled and fixed right. The quality of this $6000 stove is poor with an $80 part failing every year. After multiple years and probably thousands of replacement for this part with no improvements over that time period i have no faith in the technical Please no flowery customer support reply, just fix the problem.

Wonderful but very disappointed it did not come with Shabbos mode. Very. All new products that I™€™ve been buying for years have have it. But this beautiful amazing latest technological oven does not have Shabbos mode. I would not have purchased it had I known. The additional zmantech device I had to purchase to ™€œmake™€ it Shabbos mode is not the same .

Beautiful and functional, but burners too hot

I am loving my new range. Cooking with it is a pleasure and it adds such a beautiful aesthetic to our kitchen. The knobs/controls feel nice to the touch and having 6 gas burners is a game changer. I™€™m only beginning to tap into the oven capabilities, though I have roasted several chickens, baked some rolls and used the broiler a couple times. My only complaint is that the smallest burners are almost too big for my smallest pans. I have to use the simmer burner for those and I wish I had at least one more simmer option - for when I need to use multiple small pans - or that a couple of the burners were narrower for smaller pans. We don™€™t use a microwave and we eat pretty clean, cooking mostly from scratch, so our range is being used every meal for either cooking or reheating leftovers. Even on the lowest setting, the burners are pretty hot and heat up food quickly. I wish there was greater ability to keep things at a lower heat. I™€™m finding things heat up too quickly and I have to babysit them more than I™€™d like or they will burn. It™€™s not just warming the food, it™€™s cooking it. For the price tag I would have expected more control over the heat. Fine cooking is not about blasting food with crazy amounts of heat, it requires the ability to use small amounts of heat over a longer period of time, something I™€™m finding nearly impossible with the range on this thing. When I am cooking multiple dishes/sides I often end up having to turn one of them completely off and reheat it when the rest of the meal is ready because the lowest setting is continuing to cook it instead of just keeping it warm. The knobs go from ™€œLo, 1, 2, 3™€¦..9, Hi™€ and I think the hottest I™€™ve ever used for normal sautÃing is 5 or 6 when I™€™m in a hurry and maybe 8 for deep frying French Fries. If you are a foodie and cook with a lot of low/gentle heat, this might be a dealbreaker for you. I really wanted a 36™€ range with 6 burners and a large oven capacity (I roast a large turkey every Thanksgiving for our extended family get together), and this seemed like the best bang for our buck. Other brands were either obscure with uncertain reliability/customer service or twice as expensive and I just couldn™€™t justify that. Had I known about the high heat issue I don™€™t know what I would have done. It™€™s actually really hard to find a 36™€ range with all of the features you want if you are looking for something super specific. I think we probably would have gone with this range anyway, for the price tag and the reliability of the brand and ease of getting customer service. I™€™m sure that over time I™€™ll get used to the heat and figure out how to get the most out of this range and make it work for me too.

While I'd love to give this a high score, the reality is the brand new unit only managed to survive one nights cooking. The oven stopped working. Tech inspected and found it to be a bad ignitor and something related to the ignitor. OK, these things happen, but then they went to order replacement parts, and the oddball tall ignitor is on an 8 week backorder and the other part can't be ordered! You have got to be kidding me! At this point I would like this thing gone. Really thought GE and turned a new leaf.

we were so excited to purchase this new range. perfect for our family's love for cooking... HOWEVER it has not worked at all according to design and there is a major flaw in the flame size and time it takes to ignite. And the oven takes forever to heat up. We are hoping that this is only a defective build and not representative of the series or the brand as a whole!
