The AC works great. Easy to install, no noise, and cooling is perfect. The only thing is that I just took it down the window and there were parts turning yellow, like it's starting to rust and it's not supposed to because I bought it not even a year ago.

Incredibly fragile vent/air filter. Broke upon first opening to clean the air filter. Did not even use a lot of force. I tend to not write bad reviews unless it's horrific but I have been spammed to review, every 2-3 days from GE and it irritated me so much, I decided to leave a review. I would NOT recommend getting this unit. Amazon.com had great service though (that's where I bought this item, new).

I love this little AC unit. I live in Mojave County Arizona where we get up to 120 degrees in the summer. I have a little tiny home 96 square feet a 12'x8' and my 6000 btu Midea AC unit works great and is so energy efficient that it runs off my solar-powered system. I highly recommend this product

This A/C window unit has absolutely served its purpose for my 236 square foot living room. Installation was exceptionally easy; the directions were clear and easy to follow. I did opt to place it on a support frame I purchased separately for added support and security. The unit and frame paired up wonderfully. Operation has been very easy with the remote, and the unit display has let me know when the filter needs cleaning, which has also been very easy to do. Before installing the unit, I was using two box fans, a rotating stand fan, and my ceiling fan. I still use the stand fan and the ceiling fan and have the unit set at 78 on eco mode, and I have found that it's more than enough cool. I've even turned it off at times. For perspective, I'm in north central Texas, which can be both hot and muggy. Utility cost-wise, I'm running maybe the same cost, if not a little bit less. As far as noise, I often have to walk over to see if it's actually on if I've got anything else going on because it's that quiet.

Initial impressions are great! Bought this to replace a 10 year old unit that was just done. This 6000btu window A/C is fairly quite, and puts out a nice volume of cold air. Installation was straight forward and easy enough for anyone that knows how to use a drill and screwdriver. Felt an obvious difference in the rooms temperature within 10 minutes of turning it on. Perfect for small /medium sized bedroom. Overall happy with my purchase.

First GE Appliances product, and you have a lifetime customer. The unit is a third smaller than my previous Midea mechanical window unit that blew a compressor from a power outage, yet it's twice as powerful, cooling a 250 sq ft bedroom and a hallway on the unit's Eco Mode. The delay timer is one of the most useful features I've ever used on a window unit, since I can put a sleep timer on the unit so I don't have to wake up to turn it off. I look forward to purchasing an upgraded unit in the future with an added heat pump. Skip Midea and go GE, you won't regret it.

Overall a decent AC

I'm using this in an approximately 120 square foot bedroom and the cooling factor is great on the low setting at 68°. I run quite warm most days due to my chronic condition and a 5,000 BTU wasn't cutting it for me. I also need to have the humidity kept down and this seems to do just that, again on the lowest fan setting at the temperature stated. I also love that it has the eco mode for energy efficiency because I don't like it running 24/7. The only issue is it's a bit noisy and I have the proper insulation/padding in place to help with that but, when the compressor kicks in the noise is a bit excessive for my liking. Installation was easy, typical window AC setup.

I have to start by saying that it's a very good product, but it comes with exact measurements. If you buy it, you have to measure the place where you're going to put it. The place where I wanted to install it didn't have the necessary measurements, and the person who was going to install it only gave me the option of demolishing part of it so the AC would fit properly. The person is an AC expert and told me it's an excellent product; it doesn't make that much noise. It comes with all the installation instructions, its parts, and a remote control, which makes it even better. I'm still finding solutions to be able to use it because it's something I need. In my experience, I gave it 3 stars because of the measurement issue, but overall, it's pretty good. If you want to buy the product, look at the measurements and dimensions to have a 10/10 experience.

My son's room is very hot during spring/summer so we opted to install this window air conditioner and honestly it was the best decision, it was very easy to install, no gaps between the window and the unit, all the hardware needed is included, we installed it in less than an hour. After we turn it on the room was cool in about 10 minutes. It isn't loud, I really like that it has a thermostat so you don't have to worry about the temperature because it turns on and off depending the set up, and it is also great that it has a remote control. I definitely think this is a great option to cool off a small room without spending a lot! Definitely worth it.
