I purchased this to replace the dishwasher I purchased in 1988. It was no longer drying and the switch needed to fix it was no longer available. It served me well for 38 years. I didn't expect much from this new one, based on all the complaints I have heard from family and friends regarding newer models of dishwashers. I live alone now after raising my family and it takes me a while to fill the dishwasher, so I've only run it twice since it was installed. I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of this machine. The racks are weak and don't slide in and out smoothly. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete the normal wash and dry cycle which kind of belies its claim of energy efficiency. A seal is already coming loose -- I've pushed it back in place but expect to need to call for a repair soon. The interior and exterior are plastic. If I had still had kids, one crash into it with a kiddy bike would be enough to destroy it. Each time I've used it so far, a few items remained dirty in spite of pre-rinsing. But it does dry my dishes and is quieter than my former one. Like friends and relatives have reported to me, I expect it to self-destruct in a relatively short time. What happened to American quality?????

I am disappointed in the quality of the dishwasher. It certainly doesn't live up to the previous GE appliances that I have purchased. Esthetically it appears cheaper made. My last GE dishwasher lasted 10 years. I'm not trusting for that much life from this appliance. At this point I may need to look at other brands when considering kitchen appliances.

I have never in my life seen a dishwasher built so cheap. The bottom rack isn't even on much of a track, when you pull it out it slides off. Installation was a joke, the insulation is loose, try shoving that in with the dishwasher. I ordered online since we live out of a major town. Never again will order any appliance without looking at it in person. I always had GE Never again

It's not overly complicated either (I'm not into bells and whistles) -- although I'm not one to thoroughly read about all the feature/functions. I just put it on one setting and keep it there. My only comment is that it takes a very long time to wash. It's not a problem just noticed that it takes a long time.

Very disappointed. The lower rack continually falls of the rails. poorly made wheels that need a wider ridge to stay on the rails. Just recently have had to stop the dishwasher manually as the 1 hour operation ran for an hour and a half. Three nights ago I started the dishwasher on normal wash and when my wife and I came upstairs it wash still in wash cycle.

I was disappointed in how lightweight the unit is. There was no covered basket on the utensil holder to put bottle lids and items, nothing to keep the small items in place. The door latch appears to be very vulnerable. I am just disappointed in the overall quality of the unit. That being said, I™€™ve only run it once and it did seem to do a good job cleaning. I™€™m concerned about the lifespan this product may have.

Great Machine after getting past initial Problems

First, paid an extra $100 just because the Door Color was BISQUE. Clearly, they took another color unit and replaced the outer door facade with Bisque, because the top part of the inner plastic was not fully SNAPPED into the Bisque colored outer door facade, SO IT LEAKED! Of course, it took me 3 Wash Cycles to figure out why/where the leak was coming from. When I finally Snapped the top edge fully/tightly into place, finally, No More Leak!! WOOHOO! Also, GE went "Cheap" on the inner upper and lower Dish Racks, nothing like was in my similar GE that finally died after 8 years. Worse, the lower rack rollers did not reach fully to the side tracks so sliding in and out it could easily fall off one side and make for difficult use (I used my old unit's upper and lower racks still in good condition, robust, fit well, roll easy, etc.). For the Noise, it says 57dBA, I think, that's about right, my old one was 55dBA and bit quieter but not by much (Use the noise blanket around unit and Foam behind kick plate to help buffer noise further)....so sound is as advertised. Capacity is what you would expect, but like I said before, dish racks are light, weak, cheap compared to my old model of almost identical performance level, so maybe reuse yours if replacing and not new install. Only other issue was delivery must have laid it upside down or on its side, because the racks were all twisted inside and wedged around heating element and bent element holder so had to do some delicate extraction to get the bottom rack out without damaging heat element and then reworked the holding clamps that were bent....but that is on deliver, not the Dishwasher. Overall, good unit for the price if you Don't Buy Bisque with the $100 up-charge for "Nothing", but couldn't afford to change every appliance color so HAD to buy Bisque. Without Door Color Change, probably no Leak issue, so I'd still buy this one again. Solid machine and get the job done for the price.

From day one I found immediate leaking from the lose door seal. I called GE and their tech told me, "This is the cheapest we make, it's all plastic." He used his finger to punch the door seal back into place. I have done the same for months but now the seal is so dysfunctional the door leaks constantly. Unfortunately I wash dishes only once a week and despite only having the washer four months and only using at night I was unaware of the increasing flood volume. I only discovered how bad it was when one morning a huge pool of water in the middle of the kitchen floor with dried detergent power around an evaporated larger pool led me to investigate the origin. I ran the dishwasher in daylight and watched (and filmed) water dripping out of the door. Now my laminate kitchen floor is ruined and it , plus the subfloor need replacing. It has been slow, insidious, and hard to discover because I only use it once a week. In addition the racks are cheap. The bottom rack features small plastic wheels that regularly pop off and have to be replaced. There is no track so I have to constantly lift the rack to place it back into the washer, which is difficult with two shoulder replacements). If the bottom rack is empty it pops all over, slides sideways, and must be manually replaced into the machine. All-in-all, a cheap, terrible, yet expensive machine.

It does a decent job washing dishes and it is quiet. But the bottom rack never stays on the track, inside us plastic coated, one of the dish supports is broken under the coating. We got this because the bisque color wasn't available on the replacement unit we wanted. Our old unit has stainless steel interior, new replacement would have been stainless exterior which we didn't want. I know everyone wants stainless these days, stainless is hideous.

The bottom rack is so low I have to bend way over to put in the dishes; it is difficult for me to load. The top rack came with an attachable piece for, of all things, chopsticks! Of course they would fall right to the bottom if used. Unusable stemware rack. Piece won't attach anyway. Glasses shift around. Larger mugs don't fit. Trying to put smaller dishes on top rack--they roll around out of their spot or stick out through the sides and prevent rack from closing. Rack is tilted for no obvious reason. Door won't open unless manually pushed all the way down, which is really low as mentioned before. Trying to finish drying load by opening the door a little bit, but it won't stay open. Liquid Jet Dry dispenser has no way to tell if it is full or empty. NOT the quality I was expecting from GE.

I love this dishwasher. I have had to walk back into the kitchen to make sure it is running. There are some dishes, like my meatloaf pan that never came clean with my old dishwasher. It comes out spotless now. I have never had to finish washing dishes by hand with this one.

The bottom rack does not track well, causing the gasket seal around the door to be knocked off repeatedly. This seal must be tucked back in every time we run it. This product is so cheaply made compared to the GE dishwasher it replaced, I regret the purchase.

Not the Same as a GE Profile

20 years ago, I purchased all GE Profile appliances in the color of Bisque for my remodeled kitchen. (Refrigerator, cooktop, oven and dishwasher) I have been very pleased with all of them. Recently however, my dishwasher's power/electronic board went out and there was no replacement part to be found. Therefore, I had to purchase a new one. A new GE Profile dishwasher was not available in the Bisque color. The only one available in this color is not the quality of the one that I purchased years ago. I would have preferred another GE Profile but it was not an option. The only colors available in the GE profile collection are stainless, black & white. None of these would have looked right in my kitchen. One positive is the Bisque color is a perfect match to all the other appliances. I would ask that this color be made available in the GE Profile collection for future customers as well as myself. My main complaint with the new purchase is with the dry boost/steam+sani cycles. There is no way of escape for the steam to exit the dishwasher once the cycle is complete. Due to this, water remains on the door and in the bottom of the dishwasher. The dishes feel damp somewhat when removed. I never had this issue with the GE Profile Anti=Bacteria cycle. Please consider my request to make the Bisque color available in the GE Profile collection. I'm sure there are others who would agree.

The picture showed a utensil basket with a grid, it didn't come with one. The bottom drawer is hard to close and the wheels come off often. One of the prongs broke off the 2nd day. It doesn't have enough room to put many dishes in it. My old dishwasher held twice as much. It's more due to the design of the prongs than the size of the dishwasher. After just 3 months, it only runs now and then. I wish I hadn't bought this model. Usually GE has good products, but this is a real lemon. I wish I could get my money back and get a different model. Now I have to live with it for years. Well, if it lasts that long. Will see after it gets serviced.

A pain to install and seems cheaply made!!

Installation is difficult. You only have about 4 inches underneath to work with where my old dishwasher of 22 years had about 8 inches. The electrical cover is poorly designed when trying to adjust to put on. The stabilization pieces that you put on the top are cheaply made. The white insulation piece is nothing special. It overall seems cheap, but I guess that is the quality we get these days. Curious if the designer that designed this dishwasher has ever tried installing one?

It is looking and running well so far. Wish the kick-plate matched the dishwasher. It is black not beige. Should have kept my kick plate from broken GE™€¦it works have matched. The ™€œnew™€ strong plastic like smell is a bit much. Will try running vinegar and/or baking soda through it

I™€™m replacing a GE dishwasher that was only 5 years old that after the purchase I understand that the unlighted board was a problem that actually GE knew about and hadn™€™t contacted anyone. The new GE the bottom rack keeps sticking when trying to supposedly glide back in but this was the only replacement for the color

Loved my GE that was replaced by this one. However, it cleans dishes but they dont dry like I would like. The door to the appliance is so lightweight. I feel it can break if someone slams to close. Basket way to small and clumsy to remove. Hoping government isnt dictating to this company while they all dont practice what they preach. I have had dishwashers for many years.

It performs as it should. We had no idea that the "normal" cycle was such a long time. The 1 hour cycle is enough for a load. However, the bottom rack does not stay in its track. The door is so flimsy it appears ready to break.

This dishwasher is definitely quieter than the old one we just got rid of. We were lucky to find a dishwasher in bisque color since we could not find any other companies that made it in that color.

Reduced Noise Pollution

Used it twice now and I'm more than satisfied with the quality of the product. While the original dishwasher did a good job, the new G.E. unit does seem to clean glass ware spot free compared to the original dishwasher using the same detergent and rinse aid. Additionally, I am impressed with the quiet operation of our new G.E. dishwasher. The first time I operated it, I didn't hear much noise and checked the unit to ensure that it was operating properly. It was and I appreciate the quieter operation.

I wanted to wait to review my product until I had used it a bit. I must say it is a great value for the money. It gets the dishes, very clean, completely dry, and is easy to load and empty. This is even with the one hour setting. I combine the one hour setting with the energy boost. So far, this is a good purchase experience.
