Ordered the tank in June 2024 and installed in August 2024. It replaced a 22 year old tank that was still functioning, but i was unable to remove the anode rod for the last few years and figured it was a good run for a tank. First purchase through Wayfair as they are an authorized seller/distributor and they are not sold in my area. Ordering and delivery were without a hitch Communication was good and although I was leary about condition upon arrival, it arrived in excellent shape with no dents and even the box was in perfect shape. The problem began after installation. This has an onboard diagnostic control that uses yellow light and flashing red to indicate a problem. Fired up the unit after installation and set the heater to a setting between low and vacation. I keep the tank temp on a setting that will not burn if running only hot water. The tank temp at this setting was 135 degrees using 2 different quality temperature probes coming out of the faucets. i turned it to vacation and no change after several days and pilot and no change after several days. I called GE and explained the issue and went through a sequence where I put it on different setting for 10 seconds and moving to the next setting for 10 seconds Still same temperature after several days. turned it to pilot and let sit foe several days and was still at 135 degrees. Called the 800 number again was was put thru to a rep who indicated there was no issue with the heater because there was no code... They do not have any reps in my area and told me I would have to call my own plumber who she said wouldnt do anything because there is no code. After a month no resolution and stuck with a waterheater that does not function as it is supposed to . low:50 (or room temp) Hot 120 a130 b 140 c 150 very hot 155 according to page 9 in the manual Wayfair does not accept returns on appliances and GE says there is no problem because there is no code. Been loyal to GE for 30 years, but never again. Should have gone local so I could have returned it.
