I have a cafe 21.9 cu/ft side by side refrigerator/freezer. The white plastic part on the ice maker that separates the cubes has broke. I can™™t seem to find this part. I can only locate the entire ice making unit. The part I need is cheap plastic and I don™™t need to replace the entire unit. I™™ve only had the fridge for a year. I™™ve attached a photo of the part

After 15 years my ice maker went out. I ordered an allegedly genuine GE replacement. It is clearly more cheaply. The on/off rocker switch had been replaced with cheap plastic slide. The other materials were all flimsier than the original. Anyway It was D.O.A.. I obtained another. It didn™™t last a year. Dry poor.

I ordered a replacement WR30X10044 and they sent me a part that doesn't seem to fit. On the box WR30X10093, which apparently is a replacement. But the part doesn't fit at all and the plug is entirely different. The original part mounted on the left and the new part is supposed to mount on the back but there is no where to mount it on the refrigerator. Do you expect me to drill holes to mount this???

I called GE to purchase icemaker for installation in a Hotpoint fridge bought in June 2023. I spent $200 (excludes the bin) and bought nuts and bolts from home center in order to make an assembly kit. Turns out the harness(see pic) is for older models and the IM4D or IM6D kit are compatible ($145). Lost one month to sort it out with GE and spent $70 more to create the assembly kit. installed DIY on July 19, so no input on operation yet.

If you have a fridge with a plastic interior, this requires you to remove the old stripper (the part with the teeth), remove the one on the new unit, and put the old one on the new unit. It is not easy to do without cracking the stripper. They should have shipped the new unit- with the 2 different kinds of strippers, allowing you to choose which one to install.
Second, the unit does not ship with the mounting screws and you use the original ones. If the screws were a tiny bit longer you would be able to put them in and then "hand" the unit on it and then tighten them. However they have to be removed altogether. Because of the angles it is not so easy to hold the unit place and then put the screws in without dropping them. GE recognizes this because the manual says "if the screws fall into the icemaker they can be retrieved when the icemaker is removed". What about the inverse- by the tie a screw falls into the icemaker you would have plugged it in. So now you have to unplug the unit and possibly the first screw you successfully installed, to retrieve the screw that fell.
Finally the unit should come with instructions as to how to adjust the water flow. (It appears to be a little turn know on the front but it not a screw so you have to try to turn it with your finger- not terrible easy or friendly.
Bottom line is that GE "cheaped out" for a plastic part and a couple of screws and some instructions.

I ordered WR30X10093 ( apparently supersedes/replaces WR30X10044) but box contained WR30X28702 which does not fit in my refrigerator. Further research reveals there is no ice maker to replace WR30X10044, confirmed by GE

This is supposed to replace part WR30X0327. The replacement part DOES NOT allow the Ice repository/auger to fit back in the space.

Also does not have 2 holes on the other end that slips over 2 areas in the fridge to mount. There is no way to mount this without these. Does not come with additional mounts to use on the rear and they no longer make them either.

I ordered this part from a local appliance store based upon the model number on my current ice maker and website searches. I attempted to install the part but looked at it and realized that it didn't come with the side mount bracket that the one that was inside my freezer had. Of course the store that i ordered it from will not take it back because the box was opened (God forbid I open the box to see what it looked like before installing), called GE and it said that this is the replacement for the model number I supplied. No installation brackets are sold separately for this product. What engineer designs a replacement with no way to attach it to the freezer. I'm out $125 and stuck with an ice maker that I can't use.

I bought this to replace the original one that came with the fridge. I was cautious after reading some of the reviews but I went ahead and got it. The shipping was quick. It took me a whole 10 minutes to swap, only cause I didn't have a socket for the hex head screw and used a pair of pliers. I haven't had any issues so far and it's pumping out ice great and none have gotten stuck so far. I'm also using the stripper that came with it cause the old one was damaged. I'm not sure what the problem everyone else had. You shouldn't need to turn this thing off and on a lot with the paddle doing the automatic stop when the tray is full

Bought this to replace ice maker in year 2000 side-by-side that has the 'round' connector on the sidewall. This adapter cable approach is terrible. The result of adding the adapter to the attached cable results in far too much length that has to be dressed somewhere -- without any help from the online instruction manual that I had to find on line because there was no instructions in the box. You can't hang the excess cable down because it interferes with the ice bin. Had to loop the cable upward between the two screw attachment points, but all the while fighting the connection / connector between the two cables and a required twist to the wire. Makes it look very odd as installed. It took three of my own zip-ties to hold the excess cable in place so that I could attach the ice maker to the sidewall. I expected better engineering from GE.
This ice maker is the only OEM alternative. Didn't want to risk installing an aftermarket from 3rd party.
