We had the same model which lasted for several years so we replaced it with the same one. Perfect size for our galley kitchen - if it had a glass door where you could see inside it would have received 5 stars. But if I could have added a half star I would have - I have an oven thermometer and checked it - it was spot on

Surprisingly even heat back to front of oven. Stove surface easy to clean because burners and grate disassemble quickly and easily and closed stove top surface contains any spills. The interior of the oven is easy to wipe down and it cools quickly after baking. The oven door will stay open at various angles. This is a nice feature. Love all the rounded range edges. Only default is oven depth. It will not accommodate 17™ cookie sheets nor baking dishes. You must use 15™, straight sided sheets and baking pans with no handles. Had to purchase all new cookie sheets and baking pans.

For a 20" free standing range this Hotpoint model is a work horse. Since my wife is Thai we tend to cook a good deal of Thai food with a Wok which requires a good amount of BTU's to make the dishes taste delicious. When looking for a 20" range I was surprised to see many other brands with low BTU's. So this little range/oven seems to do the job just swell.

I like this stove. The top is easy to keep clean, it looks really nice. Because of the location in the kitchen the burners are in awkward positions, but I™™ll get used to it. And I suppose I™™ll get used to standing on my head to use the broiler. Once I buy a broiling pan. (!) I adjusted the oven control according to instructions in the manual, but if the oven thermometer I bought at a hardware store is accurate (?) it™™s 40-50 degrees low. The instructions say not to buy a grocery store thermometer as they are inaccurate, so I didn™™t. The adjustment you can make yourself is only 30 degrees, so I guess I™™ll call the place I got it and ask their advice. Still™"something I can learn to deal with. Considering that this is not a cheap stove, I™™m hoping it can be resolved easily.

...Given that it's a no-frills gas range aimed at studio apartments and such. The design is good and all components are good quality. I'd give it 5 stars except that Hotpoint in Louisville KY is using clamp-equipped forklifts or similar to handle this boxed inventory, and the boxes aren't adequate to protect the stove during clamping and/or their forklift operators aren't truly qualified to use that equipment, resulting in the oven doors getting crushed into the stove on the left side, causing unacceptable damage to both. I had to return the first stove because the damage was so outrageous the oven door wouldn't seal. See my pictures. The replacement stove had the exact same pattern of damage but less severe, so I'll put up with it because I NEED a stove-- but when you buy something NEW it needs to arrive in PERFECT condition, Hotpoint. Get your act together.

I wanted a small stove because I didn't want to heat up a hudge oven to bake 1, pan of food for 6 people. I was surprised to see that the same great quality of materials HotPoint uses in larger units, used on this one. After seeing my stove 2 other friends of mine are changing their big stoves for ones just like mine. I love my HotPoint 20" stove. Another wonderful feature is that I dont have a particular hot spot in my oven, where food can cook unevenly, the thermometer for the oven is splendidly accurate and the flames on the cooktop range from an amazingly high to a very low flame to cook rice or even a pizza for one on a skillet. I could not be happier that I have 2. One for my rental house and one for myself.

I gust got this stove today it is so nice not to have to deal with piolet lights that go out all the time and no more smoke detectors going off all the time every time I use the oven my old stove came with the house back in 1936 just that date tells a lot about what I always had to deal with.

We bought this to replace an older camp stove that was rusting out. We love the look of this little powerhouse! It works great - and is so easy to clean! Love the closed surface on the cooktop. Burners are great to control, making heat level easy to manage.

Love the unit, only had a broken glow rod when I bought it. Called customer service and after a few hiccups I had the part sent to me and now that it is fixed everything is working as it should. only down side is the oven has an odd cold spot in it- we just have to rotate baked goods 2 times instead of the standard one rotation halfway through baking. Otherwise the unit works as expected.

The anti-tip bracket should be redesigned to keep the range closer to the back wall. The installer could not install the bracket because it kicked the range several inches away from te back wall. It is possible that the installer did not know how to install the bracket.

I bought this sized stove for yurt-living (21' round space) and I've been extremely pleased. The burner surface is firm, it heats up my food fast, it's easy to clean, the oven size is small but meets my needs (glad for the 2 shelves), and the size is perfect. I have two suggestions though. The knob for the oven doesn't have enough numbers on it (ex - the only actual numbers are the 100s: 100, 200, 300, etc). It would be really helpful to have more markers for in between (ex - 325, 350, 375). That said, I'll get used to it and make it work but it seems like it would have been an easy thing to include so I don't have to make the marks myself on the knob. The other is an oven light; I can live without it but the stove was not inexpensive and it would have been really helpful. Overall? Happy.

I waited for a month from the time I ordered this stove until the time it was delivered, and when I removed the packing styrofoam, It had several spots where the enamel was marred. The black from the frame flakes off. It™™s all cosmetic, but still. I paid for a NEW stove, I want it to look new.

It came with the incorrect orifice for one of the burners.
Also screws were missing to attach the back piece. The directions are so bad it is hard to believe that someone actually wrote these directions and used them. I called GE and they said they were going to send replacement. Lets hope.
